MILPITAS, Calif., (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Elo, a leading global supplier of POS touchscreen solutions, announced that retailcloud, a developer of award-winning, cloud-based point of sale (POS) applications, has certified Elo’s Android-powered mPOS hardware family for use with retailcloud’s Zero POS cloud-based application suite. The combination powers a portfolio of fully integrated and seamless point of sale solutions. Included in the retailcloud certification are the all-in-one PayPoint Plus for Android™ and the I-Series for Android device when accompanied by the Wallaby flip stand, magnetic stripe reader and an expansion computer module for additional peripheral connectivity. Both mPOS offerings are suited for a variety of markets including retail, grocery, quick service, casual dining, salons, liquor stores and sporting/events. Available today, the solutions are inexpensive, easy to use and built for retail.
Elo PayPoint® Plus for Android brings modern style to the point of sale with a sleek aesthetic showcasing the 15.6-inch TouchPro™ PCAP flip-for-signature touchscreen tablet. The all-in-one PayPoint Plus device has everything a merchant needs built in, including a full-sized cash drawer, fully integrated 2D barcode scanner, 3-inch printer, an encryptable MSR, and connections for third-party peripherals. Merchants benefit from the simple single-cable design for fast setup and the ability to customize the platform by adding third-party peripherals including a scale, secondary cash drawer, handheld scanner, EMV terminal and NFC reader.
“Elo’s mPOS platform delivers exactly what our customers desire in terms of pricing, quality and scalability,” said Rupak Anto, Head of Product and Engineering at retailcloud. “The joint Elo and retailcloud solution is simple to set up, intuitive to use and built for high-volume applications that scale with the size of the business — all at a price point even small businesses can afford. We’re especially excited about our latest customer engagement app for Android, enabling upsell at the checkout using a compact dual Elo touchscreen setup.”
The Elo I-Series for Android touchscreen delivers modern style in a space-saving design while seamlessly integrating a Star Micronics TSP143 printer when mounted on the Wallaby flip stand. Retailers can add a second customer-facing touchscreen to enable applications like kiosk self-service, loyalty program participation, customer engagement and upsell at check out.
“I don’t know how our business survived without this solution,” said John Ozmert, Owner of Ace Hardwood Floors. “Our old bulky machine was slow and wasn’t helping us sell. With our new Elo touchscreen tablet and retailcloud software, we serve customers quickly, and our staff loves how easy it is to use. The streamlined look has modernized our shop inside and out.”
All of Elo’s Android touchscreens are available for use with EloView software, an all-in-one solution for remote content deployment and device management. With EloView, an administrator can instantly provision software, manage device settings, and even enable kiosk mode for self-service from anywhere at any time.
“The ease of use and affordability of Android point of sale solutions continues to drive demand,” said Dave Murphy, Director of Software Alliances and Developer Relations at Elo. “Our Android solutions deliver a retail-hardened design powered by EloView software to immediately transform the traditional checkout into a modern interactive customer experience.”
